Top tips for your Big day

Top Tip 1

Make a list of “must have” Group Shots – I suggest 8-10 formal shots, give your list to your Chief Bridesmaid & Best Man as normally they will know family members.
While I’m setting the first group, they can be off gathering the next one organised, saving a load of time!
You may well come under parental pressure to have “old Mrs Jones” who lived 3 doors down from you in a shot, absolutely we can do this but not during the formals, this can be done later and a little bit more relaxed.

Top Tip 2

Remind your Bridesmaids that it’s not the 3.30 race at Kempton Park and not run down the aisle!
Take it nice and slow, smile at the guests and that way, I’ll be able to get crisp amazing shots.
And the same goes for you, nice and slow and see the emotion on all your guests faces!

Top Tip 3

All of us have ageing relatives, and it can be a stressful and tiring day for the older members. So, rather than them having to stand and wait, especially if they have walking difficulties, it makes sense for us to go to them and that’s exactly what we do – they will certainly appreciate it.

Top Tip 4

Whether you have real or artificial flowers, my top tip is to wrap a kleenex hankey round the stem and if any of the Wedding Party get “emotional” you’ll be first on hand to offer “greetin face” a wee help!

About Ayrshire

Ayrshire’s wedding venues paint a romantic tapestry of Scotland’s most enchanting locations, from dramatic clifftop castles to elegant country houses steeped in history. Couples can exchange vows against the backdrop of Culzean Castle’s magnificent architecture, with the sun setting over the Firth of Clyde, or celebrate their love in the literary romance of Brig o’ Doon House Hotel, where Robert Burns’ poetry still echoes through the grounds. The region offers a perfect blend of coastal splendor at venues like Trump Turnberry and The Marine Hotel, where the sound of waves provides a natural symphony to ceremonies, while inland treasures like Dumfries House and Enterkine House Hotel nestle in woodland settings that transform through Scotland’s seasons – from spring blooms to winter wonderlands.

Whether you dream of a grand celebration in a historic ballroom adorned with crystal chandeliers, or an intimate gathering in manicured gardens with views stretching to the Isle of Arran, Ayrshire’s venues combine natural beauty, historic grandeur, and warm Scottish hospitality to create wedding celebrations that feel both timeless and magical.
